Futurising- Careers in CCI

If you’re trying to engage an audience of creative minds with the daunting prospect of employment, networking and careers in the Creative Industries then you might want to use some creative ideas to make the event a success. The London College of Communication certainly thought so when they came up with Futurising, a two-day careers festival held in Shoreditch this year. That’s right, careers festival not fair.

Hands up who wants a job?

A paradigm of creativity, the concept of Futurising is a lot sexier than your standard careers event. The festival itself was buzzing with creative energy, and the aesthetic of huge art works, bars and balloons added to the friendly vibe. The day included one-to-one expert feedback sessions, stalls and talks from over 100 specifically selected employers, trainers and networkers.

The event sought to give Graduates, those looking to up-skill and current students the insider information and bulging contact books they’ll need to be successful in their field.

Though the festival is long gone, the connections formed there live on in the Creative Industries. And although there are no details on future events available as yet, this innovative and highly successful format will surely force  other institutions to consider undertaking creative approaches for careers in Creative Industries.
